LET ME IN written review

Let the Halloween season begin, the top runner Let Me In has arrived and it is ‘kick-ass’ horror that gets so tense that it gave me the willies. What makes this film a stand out comes from an eerie storyline, outstanding camerawork, menacing settings and creepy music that keeps the film a fright show. Acting and direction here are masterful, but with horror I’m sure you just want to know; does it scare.

THE AMERICAN written review by Delia

I wish I could say that The American is a thrill a minute, but it isn’t. It would be nice if I could tell you that the story is something new and different, but not that either. I want to say that George Clooney does a terrific job of acting, well THAT I CAN SAY and it saves the movie. The film targets the over 20’s male that likes suspense, intrigue with slow moving character and story build up. The ladies will love George Clooney.

CHLOE written review

Here’s a little film that reminded me of an Alfred Hitchcock thriller, but with an erotic touch. Very suspenseful, great characters, intriguing and with artful direction, the movie Chloe burns up the screen in this unsuspecting strange love story. The acting is courageous, especially on the part of both Julianne Moore and Amanda Seyfried.

SHUTTER ISLAND Written Review By John Delia

My eagerness for the release of Shutter Island, a suspense film directed by Martin Scorsese ended with disappointment after seeing the flick the other night. What I figured from the trailer as an intriguing thriller, turned out to be a ‘Hitchcockesque’ concoction with metaphors from the likes of Spellbound, North by Northwest, Marnie and Vertigo without the twists and surprise ending. If you go to see the film, you will be served up some excellent acting and cinematography, but don’t expect a cherry on the dessert.

THE FOURTH KIND

Believe it or not, The Fourth Kind, a true story is more freaky than Paranormal. Director Osunsanni takes true video footage of an incident that took place in Alaska, couples it with some good acting by Jovovich, Patton and Koteas to create a gripping tale that’s creepy. If you like science fiction that challenges your mind then this film should fill the void.

THE FINAL DESTINATION

I have always been a big fan of the Final Destination movies and now seeing the latest release in 3D I’m even more impressed. In 3D everything in The Final Destination is tripled; the horror, suspense, gore, terror and panic. Whether you are a shock freak or just a lover of horror fiction this film should knock your socks off.

ORPHAN

The film Orphan is fun to watch, but not convincing enough making it a run-of-the mill horror flick. The evil storyline is interesting and somewhat surprising with makes it fun to watch. The twists and turns come late in the film so one needs to pay attention so you can say, Oh I new that was going to happen.
