Critics have been asked by Twentieth Century Fox to not give away any major plot spoilers for the movie Deadpool 2. They feel that it would ruin the whole experience for our readers and avid followers of the lunatic superhero. (Oops I gave away that he is a lunatic, but anyone and everyone who is savvy of the Marvel Comics characters knows he’s crazy). So I thought it over and checked out Marvel’s website to find out what their synopsis is for the sequel. None of which gives away any portion of the plot, actually it’s not even one iota of the plot.
“After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Taking it one step further I checked the YouTube trailer to see what the studio said about Deadpool 2. Like most X-Men movies there really isn’t a lot you can say about the storyline because it’s all over the place anyway. So I decided to show you the approved trailer for Deadpool 2 and the flick’s so action packed finding a plot’s useless anyway. Now one word of caution: The trailer uses a LOT of rude and crude language, has some gay sequences and a LOT of inane violence. And it’s not even the red band trailer.
I’m a huge fan of the original Deadpool movie released in 2016 just two years ago. I have to admit however, that this wacky sequel does have as much comedy, super action sequences, violent kills, new superheroes and a lot more gayness (No Ryan Reynolds is not gay). It even has some nudity that however is not too visible (you’ll have to wait until it comes out on Blu-ray to really see it), but still noticeable. And the introduction of Cable (Josh Brolin) to this film should be a springboard to future X-Men movies. But of course Josh will have to lose the identity of Thanos a character he has been in the Avengers movies for the last decade and shows up most recently in Avengers Infinity Wars.
The film has some amazing CGI and a kick-ass sound track that will blow you away. And it has range from Celine Dion to Diplo and Lil Pump as the action get wild so does the music. When it calms down so do the sounds of songs like “Ashesâ€, Dion’s newest hit. High energy music mixed with explosions, a formula for superhero fans and it works with Deadpool 2.
So if you have read this far down in my rant and rave, I may as well tell you a few things that I found about the movie. It’s a jump start on the next Deadpool 3 and X-Force that have been green lighted for future generations to come. The movie does take a few slams at other X-Men and superheroes and there’s kissing and true love.
Deadpool 2 has been rated R by the MPAA for strong violence and language throughout, sexual references and brief drug material. It also has a scene of brief nudity. Be cautious when deciding to allow immature children see the film as it does have some scenes that are very inappropriate for youngsters.
FINAL ANALYSIS: A good film that plays well to its intended audience. (4 out of 5 stars)
