This week’s new video releases include a terrific Western with Ed Harris’ fingerprints all over it and a mainstream comedy.
Keira Knightley, and Rosamud Pike shine as sisters Jane and Elizabeth Bennet in the latest version of “Pride and Prejudice. / Publicity photo Jane Austen’s 1813 novel “Pride & Prejudice” is such a classic that it’s interesting to see how today’s artists interpret it, as in “Bridget Jones’s Diary” and the Bollywood musical “Bride & Prejudice.”
The Harry Potter films apparate every so often before audiences who already know the plots thoroughly. The latest, “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” now on DVD, drops large chunks of story and several characters in favor of relative brevity (it’s still 2½ hours long) and directorial flair.
