This little quirky film should have been listed as a drama as it would have worked a lot better for the cast. Unfortunately it’s listed as a comedy and what’s funny, is not. It’s an unusual production for Stephen Frears as he’s usually one that most directors envy when it comes to making films.
Stunning and beautifully made Hemingway’s Garden of Eden is sure to be a winner for those who like hot romance at a gorgeous Oceanside villa. The lavish period piece takes you on a ride of instant love, torrid affairs and a writer’s dream. It’s made for romantics and book readers alike.
There are of course some very redeeming elements to Hemingway’s Garden of Eden, the authentic period feel of cinematography, locations, set design, and costuming are all superb. Jack Huston is an up and coming actor who is interesting to watch and totally believable in the role of David, as is Catherine Murino who provides some great moments as the darkly sexual woman standing between the young couple.
This has been one the most witty and CGI enjoyable films of the Chronicles of Narnia saga. It is very family friendly and has good messages and meaning. It is truly a family film that can be enjoyed by all. If you want a good early evening or weekend afternoon of enjoyment The Voyage of the Dawn Treader can be a fine adventure for the whole family.
Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp team up in this suspense thriller that plays out well and even fooling me right up to the very end. I liked the dialogue, direction and cinematography as well. The Tourist is like a classic Alfred Hitchcock script with all the twists and turns that made his movies great. If you like a film where you have to figure out each bend and curve, then rush to see The Tourist.
