Scrat gets his own movie

LOS ANGELES (Tuesday, December 21st, 2010) – It’s a world-shaking event: Scrat, the prehistoric squirrel/rat – and breakout star of the blockbuster Ice Age movie franchise — headlines his own short film, SCRAT’S CONTINENTAL CRACK-UP, in 3D. The short can be seen only at showings of the 20th Century Fox comedy Gulliver’s Travels, which arrives in theaters everywhere December 25.

TRUE GRIT review by John Delia

Not many westerns get an opportunity for a remake, and frankly True Grit should not have fallen to Hollywood’s whim. Outside of some brief signs of good acting, there isn’t much more to cheer about. Even the cinematography in this outing, which was a big part of the original, doesn’t make the film any better. If you have already seen True Grit with John Wayne, then I do not recommend seeing it all over again with Jeff Bridges.

TRON: LEGACY review by John Delia

Gamers and action junkies will have a treat in store with the release of Tron: Legacy a computer game plot with spunk. The fast paced adventure may be a sequel, but plays well to first timers. If there is a downside to the film, it’s that adults 35+ will probably not like or even understand the storyline. But, if your ilk is getting in front of a screen with your X-Box and driving home a winner, then Tron: Legacy should get your motor running.

This deep psychological drama makes you a witness to an obsessive out-of-body experience that terrifies and even made me cringe. If you like films that develop characters slowly, have excellent direction and a story that challenges your mind, then Black Swan is a must see.
