The year 2012 will likely be remembered as a watershed for movies based on great literature: Keira Knightly and Jude Law in Leo Tolstoy’s “Anna Karenina”; Ralph Fiennes and Helena Bonham Carter in Charles Dickens’ “Great Expectations”; and, of course, Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlet Johansson in Stan Lee’s “The Avengers.”
