Knox County Public Library’s free outdoor series Movies on Market Square returns in September for its ninth year with six feature films.
The dystopian action film sold a massive 3.8 million DVDs and Blu-rays in its first weekend of release, Lionsgate said Tuesday. Those numbers put “The Hunger Games” in ” Twilight ” territory.
In case you’re one of the few people in the world above the age of twenty-one who hasn’t seen this film yet, let me give you a quick synopsis. (However, I would actually fall into this group, because I viewed this film for the first time to write this review.)
‘Bernie’ Based on a true story, this quietly funny film – told through interviews with people living in a small Texas town – tells the story of Bernie, a funeral director (Jack Black) who befriends a rich, grumpy widow (Shirley MacLaine). He eventually kills her and takes her money.
“Take your kids to the movies this summer for free!” Inside, families, couples, day care groups and summer camps filed into R/C Reading Movies 11 to grab their tickets and check out a free screening of “Despicable Me.”
