If you love movies, right now it’s all about what’s going on in theaters, because it’s been deadly slow on the home video front, though this week brings two Criterion editions that will have fans salivating.
Summer movies are a special breed. They’re rarely unveiled at film festivals or given long-lead screenings, because their element of spectacle is its own news.
An inmate at Lorain Correctional Institution complained to officials that movies were being shown before their scheduled DVD release date.
Again, we’ve got another week where catalog rules everything around me (CREAM, get the money, dollar dollar bill ya’ll), but there’s some great titles to pick up among them, including one of Sam Fuller’s best movies.
The ban on the showing of local movies in commercial buses without authorization, has taken effect. The Film Producers’ Association of Ghana, (FIPAG), pushed for the ban, claiming the trend affects their business because patronage of their movies is seriously affected.
