LIMITLESS review by John Delia

The premise of Limitless involves the use of a mythical drug that magically makes a person a total Einstein, the pure fantasy and consequences of the outcome makes it intriguing. The cast perfectly drawn and the direction top notch, Limitless thrills and chills.

RED RIDING HOOD review by John Delia

Twilight fans here’s a little change a of pace called Red Riding Hood with romance and werewolves that should fulfill your cravings until you can get more of Stephanie Meyer. However, don’t be too quick to jump into this one if you are a reasonable adult that’s looking for some horror that chills. The fright is fleeting and the terror no more scary than a large devilish dog. Mostly shot on two sets, the film could have easily been a theatrical play.

BEASTLY review by John Delia

Unfulfilling, weak and a bit amateurish, Beastly comes up sub-par. I was truly disappointed in the romantic ‘Beauty and the Beast’ drama with both the acting and directing. Unless you are tweens to teens and totally smitten by Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfer, shy away from this wimpy attempt at moviemaking.

BAMBI on Blu-ray DVD combo pack review by John Delia

Walt Disney Studios released Bambi for the first time on Blu-ray and it is spectacular. The colors are vibrant, the story seems to be livelier and yet the lovable characters are still the same, adorable. The DVD and blu-ray discs have some exceptional bonus features and both are available in the Diamond Edition combo pack.

‘BARNEY’S VERSION’ Review by John Delia

Although Barney’s Version’s a work of art, undisputedly so, it’s not for everyone. The long-winded script hurts the movie for the center of the road filmgoers who like their stories wrapped up in small packages. Having said that, if you miss out on Paul Giamatti’s amazing performance, it would be a crime.

The Illusionist review by John Delia

Just nominated for an Academy Award The Illusionist rounds out the candidates for Best-Animated feature. I like the film for it’s old style flat animation and the storyline. If you saw The Triplets of Belleville, another Oscar nominated feature several years ago, then you will get the same feel with this film. Is it the Best-Animated film for 2010? Not if you like the modern CGI animation laden leaders that feature 3D with all the eye popping special effects.

ANOTHER YEAR review by John Delia

The film Another Year rolls out like a theatrical play or good book that’s a swift page-turner. From the opening character introductions throughout writer/director Mike Leigh’s ‘seasons’, we are treated to blossoming relationships, seeds of life, uncertainty, and a dieing effort. Amazing acting, direction and fascinating storyline make Another Year a great choice for the mature adult.

ANOTHER YEAR review by Alyn Darnay

Something there is about the English and their gardens, how they tend them, take their time with them, care for them, cherish them, bring warmth and joy to them, even staying with them when the weather turns nasty. And so to is it with Mike Leigh’s latest ensemble piece “Another Year.”
