Interesting and mesmerizing Bill Cunningham New York hits the screen about a fashion photographer who’s a friend of many and a ghost to millions. I liked this documentary as it bites off a piece of life that most people are unaware. There are many stories in the world about people but not many that take such an in depth perspective of a person who makes a difference in the fashion world.

The Gasparilla International Film Festival has a gem waiting for film lovers, rock enthusiasts and a look at music in a historical sense. The documentary is called Everyday Sunshine: The Story of Fishbone and features the rise, establishment and finally the erosion of the funk band’s amazing existence.

Making a case for a third and secret level within the” Narnia” Books by C.S. Lewis, Dr. Michael Ward presents his theory in The Narnia Code and I found it very interesting. It’s a new way to look at the “Narnia Chronicles” that were written over a half a century ago and a reason to watch the films all over again. The DVD has some very cool bonus features that will enlighten you as well.

Not all documentaries get an opposing view from another doc, but Cool It delivers a message that opens the floodgates for criticism of informational films that are not quite what they seem. The subject of the movie is global warming and it’s a rebuttal to Al Gore’s seriously frightening An Inconvenient Truth. I like this film very much because it doesn’t use scare tactics, give unsupported facts, omit reasonable solutions or misconstrue data. If you want to get what Bjorn Lomborg calls the real facts and true science of global warming, I recommend Cool It.

Film of the Warsaw Ghetto has been uncovered in a German mountainous archive that is revealing, unconscionable and despicable. A Film Unfinished shows how controlling governments can manipulate its people in an effort to spread lies. This important film should send a message to every person of any faith, nationality or political belief.
