With an exciting beginning and suspense filled story Man on a Ledge entertains those that love a good thriller. With very good performances and an action filled script that’s nicely directed this year’s box office should leap into high gear.
Sprouting some good acting from new actors The Son of No One becomes a showcase for their talent. Even with the fine acting however, the movie tends to ramble in the hands of director Dito Montiel. It becomes two films, one about a hopeless child, the other a man who has to come to terms with his unfortunate past.
Blasting onto the silver screen with the intensity of its original release nearly 30 years ago, the pop culture phenomenon Scarface, starring Al Pacino and directed by Brian De Palma, returns to movie theaters in a one-night Fathom event on Wednesday, August 31
If you missed the first season or any part of The Glades, it’s now out on DVD. The weekly cop show has a whole lot of entertainment built around a fine cast that keeps you coming back week after week. And with it being on DVD you can watch each episode without those pesky commercials. I like The Glades and find the series to be suspenseful mixed with romance and humor.
Relativity Media continued to build its 2012 release slate today, announcing it will release theUntitled Raven Project, directed by James McTeigue (V for Vendetta) and starring John Cusack (Being John Malkovich) on March 9, 2012 and the Untitled Farrelly/Wessler Comedy on April 13, 2012
Crime dramas are taking up a lot of movie screens lately and the frontrunner in my estimation is Conviction, a taut true account of an accused murderer. Filmmakers do an excellent job of bringing the true story to life with excellent acting, direction and a plausible Hollywood script. The crime biopic is inspirational, touching and convincing with possible Oscar nominations a plenty.
Superb acting is featured in Stone, a provocative drama that I found fascinating yet quite implausible. The show here comes from the strength of DeNiro, Norton and Jovovich’s performances that are sensational. If you like stories of passion and betrayal, then Stone should make your day.
