WEST FRANKFORT – The Southern Illinois SCARE Association has announced the first showing of the annual Movies in the Park event in West Frankfort, a free event open to the public. The first movie showing will take place 8 p.m
Beginning Monday, Midtown Crossing will host a weekly series of sports-themed movies in the park.
Up on the screen, in black and white, a vivacious starlet projects not with her voice or her body language but with her entrancing eyes.
TV shows new to DVD this week include Dean Martin’s vintage variety show and the current summer series “Rookie Blue.”
Last week, I wrote about some movies and TV shows that are absent on DVD and asked readers to share their own picks. Apparently, there’s a lot of frustration among the DVD fans out there, because you folks responded loudly.
Buffalo Island Veterans’ Park DVDs will be available and can be purchased at Leachville, Manila, and Monette City Halls. Barbara Lloyd, committee member, said the DVDs were created as a keepsake/fundraiser for the Buffalo Island Veterans’ Park dedication ceremony.
