Rent It THE FILM: Click an image to view Blu – ray screenshot with 1080p resolution. Oliver Stone is an emotive, visual filmmaker known to overindulge in pulpy fiction to mixed results. Stone’s best films, like Platoon and Wall Street , are brash and probing, while his duds, like Alexander , are bloated and overwrought.
Brave is hitting DVD and Blu-ray the week, which is probably the biggest title of the new releases, as are two of the summer’s misfires, but the biggest title is Lawrence of Arabia , and it’s fair to say they don’t get much bigger.
Imagine you get the keys to the Alien franchise and are expected to follow in the foot steps of Ridley Scott and James Cameron. The end result did not leave David Fincher a happy man nor was he thrilled to be a part of Hollywood.
So the summer’s biggest film hits DVD and Blu-ray this week, as does the Blu-ray collection of all the James Bond films. September is going to be an expensive month if you’re a collector, and this week’s going to hurt your wallet.
