A Blu-ray and DVD release date has been locked in for The Hunger Games , which has earned $636 million worldwide. The Lionsgate release is coming home on August 18 and EW scored the early word on what we can expect in the way of bonus features.
Now that the ‘Hunger Games’ craze is slowing down, it’s time to look at a new month of movies. From a 3D version of ‘Titanic’ to ‘American Reunion,’ the month has quite a variety to choose from.
If you are a Sci-Fi comedy nut like myself Paul delivers 104 minutes of amazement and fun. The cute little laugher features a great comical cast and although the story gets quite corny most of the sight gags are priceless.
The film tries to be part alien invasion, part road movie and part love story, either which alone might have made for a better film. It should have been much more entertain than it was. I found it a kind of throw back to the B-grade films of the 50’s, with its tentacled, bioluminescent aliens, rather than a say a more contemporary “Cloverfield†style film, which generated more thrills and suspenseful moments.
