BATTLE: LOS ANGELES review by John Delia

A lot of work and energy went into Battle: Los Angeles, but all for naught. The filmmakers use a shaky cam throughout the whole movie similar to the films The Blair Witch Project and Cloverfield. I was really puzzled since the trailers are mostly steady shots. The bouncing gets so annoying that it takes all the punch out of the film.

DRIVE ANGRY 3D review by John Delia

Out of the depths of hell and brimstone comes Drive Angry 3D a wicked ‘grindhouse’ film that takes evil to a higher level. It’s a lot of campiness in a large bundle of violence and mayhem. Director Patrick Lussier gets his cast to whittle down their talent and fit their trailer trash persona. If you are a fan of films like Machete and Planet Terror, then this cut is right up your alley.

‘I AM NUMBER FOUR’ review by John Delia

The movie I Am Number Four falls somewhere between an episode of the X-Men and X Files with all the excitement, special creatures and cunning storyline. The action starts early and continues, following an introduction of subsequent characters, providing an adrenaline kick for action junkies. The Eagle review by John Delia

The action oriented adventure The Eagle entertains, but overly dramatic acting takes the punch out of it. The simple quest storyline embedded in many other films like The 13th Warrior and Alexander makes this film a want-to-see by youngsters, especially since the trailer produces a huge build up.

THE MECHANIC review by Alyn Darnay

Here you go, a slam bam summer action movie, right in the middle of winter. Is there any better way to heat up the screen? Jason Statham is back tearing up the bad guys as an elite hit man in this excellent re-envisioning of the 1972 Charles Bronson/Jan-Michael Vincent film of the same name

RED a review by John Delia

If you can find a funnier action adventure movie than RED from this year’s releases, drop me a note, because I must have missed it. This film has all the power of big name acting, excellent directing and outstanding writers that make danger funny. If you need a comedy thriller fix, scoot on over to a theatre to see RED.

THE TOWN written review

The Oscar race has just added a new candidate called The Town, a gritty gangster film that heats up the screen with crime and romance. The film gets top marks from this critic in all departments, acting, directing, cinematography and storyline. Although some may say that the film has flaws, I can’t find a contender this year that can boast a more perfect entrant into Hollywood’s most prestigious awards race.
