Review by John Delia, Sr.
Making its way to season 3 the TV animated teen hit Star Wars Rebels continues the fight against the Imperial Army. The series starts out with the 2 part movie that aired as an introduction to the new season. Â It continues through the 22 episodes each about 30 minutes of uninterrupted sci-fi drama. Â Although the animation is hard line comic book computer drawn, it still gives the excitement of all the action of the live-action Star Wars films.
This season opens with Ezra leading the rebels in a plan to break Hondo out of the Imperial Prison. It’s an uphill battle against Grand Admiral Thawn of the Imperial Army. From the exciting beginning trough troubled times, the animated feature touches on live action Star Wars hits The Clone Wars and Rogue One.
The episodes read like a spy thriller with titles that include “Steps into Shadowsâ€, “An Inside Manâ€, “Trials of the Dark Saberâ€, “Double Agent Droidâ€, “Secret Cargo†and “Zero Hourâ€.  Each has a fairly nice story build up before letting loose the action. Other chapter titles lead the viewer into immediate excitement like “Hera’s Heroesâ€, “The Last Battleâ€, “Imperial Super Commandosâ€, “Warheadâ€, and “Iron Squadronâ€.
The season winds its way though many tight spots for the Rebels, but like in all Star Wars movies, the end sets you up for the next series. For those who are just turning 7 it may be wise to check out “Rebel’s Recon†in the Bonus features.  Andi Gutierrez will walk you through information that will enlighten and enhance your experience with the Rebels
.
