Tracy Morgan one of the comedy stars of 30 Rock hosts this funny spoof and although the DVD box claims it’s hot, I found it elementary. My reasons include that the show is brainless and feeds on the gullible. Oh! That’s intentional isn’t it? Shows like this will do anything for a laugh, but how many ways can you scare someone before it’s not funny anymore?
Comedy superstar Tracy Morgan hosts Season Three of the prank show Scare Tactics. Some of this season’s plots include a psycho who invades the home of a babysitter and her charge, a mutant creature bursts from the lab’s oversized cocoon, a horror film director silences his critics and many more crazy episodes. The elaborate set ups are bizarre, gruesome and terrify their subjects with some sophisticated pranks.
Members of their family lure the victims of the pranks into the high jinks so they are really not aware that they are about to get frightened. The real fun is the shock on the victim’s face and the many expletives that follow. I enjoyed many of the pranks, but with the DVD there was no wait till next week, so it became repetitive. My suggestion is that the best way to watch the show is to run off two episodes then put it aside for another night.
The bonus feature is titled Tracy Morgan’s Frightening Funny Bloopers and Outtakes.
Now, this DVD is unrated and includes all the curse words and nudity that was bleeped and blurred out when it was televised. Take this into consideration when you play your DVD especially if you have youngsters in your home.
FINAL ANALYSIS: A fun DVD for those who like laughing at gullible people.
