Review by John Delia

A modern day twist on Snow White the film Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs has been released on Blu-ray and DVD.  The PG rated film is perfect for the whole family providing comical entertainment with some excellent animation.  The story may be a bit challenging for us older folks, but I loved it just the same.

Snow White voice of Chloe Grace Moretz in RED SHOES AND THE SEVEN DWARS from Lionsgate

In this very funny animated tale Snow White steps into a pair of red shoes owned by a wicked witch and it turns her into a beautiful princes. The witch wants her shoes back so she makes a sinister plan to hunt her down. in the meantime part of her plan finds seven local teens getting transformed into dwarfs by the witch, but in order to change back must seek out Snow White and get a kiss.

The film features the voice talents of Chloë Grace Moretz (The Addams Family), Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games series), Gina Gershon (“Riverdale”), Patrick Warburton (“Family Guy”) and Jim Rash (“Community”). Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs was directed by Sung-ho Hong and features character design and animation direction from Jin Kim, who worked on Disney’s animated classics Fantasia 2000, Frozen II, and Tangled.

The film animation remined me a lot of the recent film Onward and the music is perfect and enjoyable throughout.
