World champion sand sculpture artists Meredith Colson and Dan Doubleday created a sand masterpiece on Treasure Island beach this weekend to commemorate the DVD and Blu-ray release of Walt Disney’s movie Alice in Wonderland.

The 6 foot sculpture of the Mad Hatter’s hat from the film took eight hours to construct using special sand.  The two world renown artists worked feverishly to make sure every detail was in the hat.  Along side sits another work of art, the Wonderland rabbit holding his watch.
