One of the best animated films this year for the whole family, Incredibles 2 is now available on home video. Filled with adventure and comedy for the whole family, the movie continues where the characters left off in the original in 2004. The long wait didn’t disturb a thing as the lovable characters still have the charm and action that kids that are now adults will certainly love.
The Parr family continues to defend the city against villains that want to take over the world in the newest installment Incredibles 2, and things pick up right from where they left off with the city under siege against Underminer (voice of John Ratzenberger).  With destruction all around them this family of Super’s jumps into action becoming Mr. Incredible (voice of Craig T. Nelson), Elastigirl (voice of Holly Hunter), the volatile Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner). Although they save the city from total destruction, the damage would have been much less had they done nothing at all.  This once again shows the world why Supers were made illegal in the first place.
The Parr’s are at an all-time low. The Superhero Relocation program is shutting down, so Rick Dicker (Jonathan Banks) can no longer relocate the Parr family as he had before. With their house destroyed and no job, Bob Parr and Helen Parr have just two weeks left in a hotel to figure something out.  It isn’t long before they are approached by billionaires Winston Deavor (voice of Bob Odenkirk) and his sister Evelyn Deavor (voice of Catherine Keener) who want to make Supers legal again.  They put the family up in a million dollar home and enlist Elastigirl do superhero work while wearing a body camera. This way they can show people her viewpoint of crime-in-action and help change the public’s perception of Supers.
With mom off doing superhero work, Bob is left home to play Mr. Mom to daughter Violet, Dash and baby Jack-Jack (voice of Eli Fucile).  Each child has their own super abilities, although Jack-Jack’s skills are developing as the movie progresses.  Its comical watching Bob adapt to the role of stay-at-home parent as he struggles with things that his wife normally handles; like helping his teen-aged daughter deal with a broken heart, learning “new math†so he can tutor his son, and sleepless nights from a baby with more energy than he has.  Even Bob’s close friend Lucius Best/Frozone (voice of Samule L Jackson) and super-suit designer Edna Mode (voice of Brad Bird) lend a hand to the tired and overworked dad.
As in the first Incredibles movie, the Parr family works together to save the world from evil, but this time they are joined by a group of new and interesting Supers.  As always Director Brad Bird does a great job writing and directing this Disney/Pixar animated film and to say the least, I’m happy to see that women can be heroes too.

Have you ever heard the expression “This is my little dumpling†in reference to your youngest child? There’s a short called “bao†about a soup dumpling that comes alive. It is very cute and funny. You’ll find it in the Bonus Features.
Incredibles 2 is a movie the whole family will enjoy. It’s rated PG by the MPAA for action sequences and some brief mild language so be cautious when showing the movie on your home video. The film is now available on 4K, DVD, Blu-ray and Digital HD.
