Another installment of the fast and the furious series spins off into a side project that includes the most unlikely two characters becoming team members. As with the previous eight Fast and the Furious stories the action never stops, but this time the world needs Hobbs and Shaw. This big adventure will bring you all over the world visiting some exotic places that will help bring to life the best special effects extravaganza this flick has to offer.
When a virus, called Snowflake, is stolen the CIA contact Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and the MI6 contact Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham), in hopes that this far out crazy move will prove to be successful. With a bad hatred toward each other, Luke and Deckard must find a way to work together so they can solve the mystery that has unfolded and save the planet from total disease outbreak.
During transport, Hattie Shaw (Vanessa Kirby) part of the MI6 team that wants to retrieve the virus is forced to make a drastic move to protect the virus from the Eteon organization, forcing her to go on the run. With a team that will stop at nothing to retrieve this virus, Brixton Lore (Idris Elba) leader and a Eteon operative that has advanced cybernetic implants which allows him to perform formidable acts, is dangerously close to getting what they want to destroy the world.
With the virus now in Hattie, the only way Deckard and Luke can save her is to locate the creator, Professor Andreiko (Eddie Marsan), who was out casted by Eteon, of this terrible disease and hope he knows a way to extract it before the host is infected. With their backs against the wall these guys need to do what it takes to get the job done.
Director David Leitch does an excellent job piecing together this action packed well put together storyline that contains everything including a few entertaining surprises. The performances by Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Vanessa Kirby, and Idris Elba were well above their usual standards, including the chemistry they all expressed on screen. This movie was by far above the standards that the Fast and the Furious series have to offer. The special effects were out of this world and will truly amaze the audience on how these characters were able to survive this onslaught of events. Lastly, to make these effects so eventful was the spectacular one of a kind stunts performed throughout this outstanding motion picture.
Final Comment: I based my grade on the exceptional storyline, the amazing special effects, and the tremendous stunts performed throughout this film. 4.5 out of 5 Stars
