A pretty cool concept the Sci-fi Adventure G-LOC takes you into space with an astronaut stuck in his damaged space craft. The storyline is original, the acting very good and the direction by Tom Paton who helmed the film Black Ops makes it exciting. If you like space adventures that are out of the ordinary, then check this one out on DVD, VOD or Digital.
After 288 years of cold weather, the planet Earth has frozen over rendering it almost useless to the population. Knowing in advance years earlier that they must reach out to space and find a new place to live, they have established colonies on the planet Rhea. Using a gateway that would make travel possible, they have built a huge population and have been turning Earthers away not to overpopulate. It has brought about refugee centers in space stations orbiting Rhea with no solution to fix the problem.
On his way to Rhea to escape the remaining struggling populace on Earth and to save himself Bran Marshall (Stephen Moyer) has a problem with having enough oxygen to reach the planet. His computer program guide Edison (voice of Mike Beckingham) tells him to divert the ship Nysa to take on the air he will need to make it to Rhea. Nysa, a damaged space ship itself is faltering and he finds the crew in trouble.
The film starts to build at this point as writer/director Tom Paton introduces Ohsha (Tala Gouvela) a Rhean who is in charge of the ship. He turns up the heat with some conflicts, instrument damage, and pushes the envelope to the point that puts the Refugee ship in danger and their chances for survival next to zero.
What makes the film special is the production that includes some amazing camerawork in confined areas. It’s even claustrophobic at times to give the feel of danger especially when Ban has to change the mother boards that are housed in subzero temperatures. The CGI shots of outer space leading to the portal and then the wormhole look very good and the fight scenes inside the Nysa are well choreographed. But, the scene stealer is Edison who leads Bran and Oasha to make the right decisions. He even cracks some comedy to provide a lull in the suspense.

“The Making of G-LOC†Director and writer Tom Paton explains the film, then goes on to show the sets and cameras that can be twisted and turned to get the right shots. You get to see the 360 camera rig in action that moves in the tubular set of the spaceship. The actors chime in with their thoughts on the production as well.
G-LOC has been rated PG-13 by the MPAA for violence and some strong language. There is also a scene of brutality.
FINAL ANALYSIS: Good production values, acting and direction make the film work. (3.5 out of 5 stars)
