I liked G-Force, it’s a very good family film filled with comedy and adventure that kids and most parents will like.  It’s a rollercoaster ride in 3D as the film pops out at a frequency that keeps youngsters grabbing at the air and pushing themselves to the back of their seats.  If you are looking for something that will keep your children occupied and give you a restful (that is if you do not get hooked) 90 minutes, then this kid friendly flick should be high on your list.

The movie centers on a special ops force trainer Ben (Galifianakis) who has put together a secret espionage crew of specially trained guinea pigs.  When the story begins we are informed that there is a sinister plot that may involve the takeover of the world.  G-Force guinea pigs Darwin (Rockwell), Blaster (Morgan), Juarez (Cruz) and a star-nosed mole named Speckles (Cage) jumps into covert action in an attempt get the goods on the leader of the menacing faction.  The team fails and the feds threaten to disband the experimental squad, but Darwin is determined to press on to the very end even if he doesn’t have government support.

The cute furry stars of the film are fun to watch as they get in and out of trouble.  Darwin’s the strong-minded squad leader and Blaster’s a weapons expert who has a crush on the third member of the team, devilish martial arts expert Juarez.  But the funniest of the crew is a member that joins the trio named Hurley (Favreau) overweight and very furry little guinea pig that steals the show with his crazy antics and anal explosions.

But the winners here are the 3D special effects masters who not only provide a great realistic depth of field, but a myriad of things popping out of

the screen.  If it isn’t the G-Force plopping in your lap, it’s tons of debris from the action that they create.  Having Hoyt Yeatman direct was a wise decision by producer Jerry Bruckheimer who had worked with him on many of his productions.  The master of visual effects who contributed his talent to Armageddon, Con Air, Sky High, The Rock, Gremlins and forty other projects delivers once again with G-Force.

The movie hits home with the 3s to early teens and should sit well with parents.  The PG rating is for some mild violence and Hurley’s gas attacks.

FINAL ANALYSIS: A kid friendly fun film for the whole family.
