KICKS OFF WITH RED CARPET ARRIVALS OF

GLOBAL AND LOCAL FILM TALENT AT

MUSEUM OF DISCOVERY AND SCIENCE

The 36th Annual Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF36) launches the 18-day event with two screenings of Marvel Studio’s star-studded, superhero movie directed by Chloé Zhao, ETERNALS, at the AutoNation® IMAX 3D theater. Outside the entrance between the two showings, the opening night party will kick-off with red carpet arrivals of filmmakers and stars in town for their film screenings opening weekend, as well as local talent who will attend their screenings during the festival. The party will feature live music and individually boxed Sushi from Heart Rock Sushi and Thai, Fort Lauderdale.

FLIFF36 runs from Nov 4 – Nov 21 with 200 Films, both local and film talent from around the world, nightly parties and an over-the-top Wrap Party at the magnificent Villa de Palma.  For details and tickets visit www.fliff.com/fliff36

Iman Zawahry, Aizzah Fatiman Salena Qureshi, and Roy Wol,

AMERICAN-ISH – Iman Zawahry, director & co-writer of the first American Muslim rom com, will be joined by lead actress & co-writer Aizzah Fatima (CBS The Good Wife, The Code), lead actress Salena Qureshi (Netflix The Society, CBS Madam Secretary), and Roy Wol, producer for all of their screenings Nov 4-7. AMERICAN-ISH is one of 5 Official Opening Weekend Films.

Anna-Elizabeth & Hillary Shakespeare.

SOUNDTRACK TO SIXTEEN – Anna-Elizabeth & Hillary Shakespeare. This young filmmaking duo from London are one of FLIFF’s 5 Official Opening Weekend Films. Hillary and Anna-Elizabeth co-wrote the screenplay, with Hillary directing and Anna-Elizabeth producing. Their earlier films include: Much Ado and The Unreason. SOUNDTRACK TO SIXTEEN is a bittersweet comedy, coming of age story about a boy and girl growing up in London, dealing with the everyday insecurities that make your world implode at sixteen. They will attend all of their screenings Nov 4-7

Mery Gregorio

VASY’S ODYSSEY – Spanish actress, Mery Gregorio (Estándar, Ama) stars in this bittersweet road-trip comedy about two strangers that travel from Alicante, Spain to Greece. Along the way they learn to face their mistakes and delve into their personal and family relationships. Mery will attend her three screenings on Nov 7 and 8

Brian Lucke Anderson, Carson McCormac

EAST OF MIDDLE WEST – Director, Brian Lucke Anderson (from Fort Lauderdale), makes his feature film directorial debut with this story of an Iowa teenage runaway and a widowed father, each fighting to take matters into their own hands to redeem their dark past.  Joining Brian is star of the film Carson McCormac (Shazam! Thinly Veiled) The film screens Mon, Nov 8th, 7:00 PM @ Gateway Cinema

Ricky J. Martinez, Carey Brianna Hart,Bill Spring, Jose Lima.

I ELECT: POWER EVERY 4 YEARS – Director Ricky J. Martinez, star of the film Carey Brianna Hart, writer and Bill Spring, and producerJose Lima. The South Florida production is a dramatic monologue, adapted for film, about the power of voting, anti-racism, and the urgent call to fight voter suppression. The film screens in the Machiavellian Short Film Program Nov. 9 & Nov 18
