“Avengers: Endgame” the Retaliation Begins

As the final chapter concludes, it’s good bye to the superhero battalion and one of their masterful powerhouses. Now, I do know this in mind and heart, that the Marvel live action characters were extremely good as a team and on their own. While we THINK they will never work together in the future, let’s not forget that the actors who portrayed them may get bored sitting around for another role to play and then what? There are so many other baddies out there in space, even Captain Marvel states that on film. So my guess is look for some single Marvel character films, before the screams for an assembly are so loud that the studio will cave-in to another Avengers.

That said, now on DVD, 4K Ultra, Blu-ray, Digital HD and more Avengers: Endgame has come home to video, and it is spectacular. Filled with all the energy of the theater experience, its best played on a big a screen as you can use. Over three hours of adventure, drama, action and thrills, the movie includes nearly every Marvel character from the past three episodes. Fighting evil to heal the universe, the group even gets joined by newcomer Captain Marvel, the most powerful superhero yet.

 

The story opens where the Avengers: Infinity Wars left off with Earth decimated and other worlds and planets in the universe in shambles. Thanos (Josh Brolin) has been licking his own wounds, but knows its all over. Even Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr) is suffering and feels his life coming to an end on Benatar, while others are trying to come to grips with loss of members of their team. They are also trying to accept the reality that half the Earth’s population has been destroyed in what Thanos says he done Earth’s civilization a favor.

But Captain America (Chris Evans) just won’t give up, even though he knows he’s been defeated. Forgotten Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) however has a plan if only one piece of the puzzle can be obtained and put in place and someone with a greater power will step forward. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo take the Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely script and work their magic for the best Avengers “get together” yet. With the use of some excellent CGI, costuming, sets, prosthesis and make-up along with other segments of the process, they bring a whirlwind of a rollercoaster ride to your home screen. The story’s amazing, the adventure over-the-top and what could be better than this Avenger’s explosive ending and a tribute to the actors who brought it all to life.

There are few prerequisites needed before you watch Avengers: Endgame to make this remarkable adventure amazing, and to better understand some of the situations that occur throughout the movie rollercoaster ride. The previous films you might want to re-watch are, Iron Man 3, Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and Captain Marvel. This is a great flick definitely worth watching as well as the other twenty-one movies that supersede it. Only kidding, this film can stand on its own with just watching the “Avengers: Infinity Wars”.

Avengers: Endgame has been rated PG-13 by the MPAA for sequences of sci-fi violence and action, and some language. Whether you are just adding to your library to relive the adventure or just want to carry the film anywhere you want to go, Marvel/Disney has the format.

FINAL ANALYSIS: It will be hard to top this Avengers movie, unless it’s another Avengers movie. (Blu-ray 5 out of 5 Stars).
