Going into this film I was wondering why I was covering a film called Bandslam, but I’m glad for the assignment. This sweet teen-tween film really rocks. Topped off by some great songs by Alyson Michalka and very good acting by a fine support cast, the movie is one of the teen oriented summer’s best.

If there ever was a documentary that screamed for help, The Cove is a prime example. Taking the task of saving Bottlenose Dolphins (also called a Porpoise) on their own, filmmaker Louis Psihoyos has made a film that is not only eye opening but amazingly emphatic.
This documentary has soul, sounds and sovereignty on its side and cashes in on all three. Focusing in on Zaire and its people Soul Power provides some blasts from the past.
There is not a lot I can say that would defend the intentionally deceptive storyline of A Perfect Getaway. I can say that the acting and cinematography are very good and yet not good enough for the price of admission.

Spacey hits a new high, Palmer provides some sterling youthfulness, and director Pate puts it all together in a neat little package worth seeing.
