Just in time for Valentine’s Day comes the Blu-ray debut of the 1970 romantic tragedy “Love Story.” The syrupy film, starring Ryan O’Neal and Ali McGraw as star-crossed lovers, taught us that “Love means never having to say you’re sorry.”

When the Gibsons of Weyburn, Saskatchewan, in Canada, returned home from a family vacation in Arizona, they found a $10,600 bill from their Internet provider – all because they had let their children stream movies on Netflix without realizing there would be roaming charges.
The telecom powerhouse and DVD rental kiosk giant are teaming up to offer a movie-streaming and DVD subscription service. Sound familiar?
The two companies will combine to try to give customers more access to video on the Web, and possibly position the new venture as an alternative to Netflix.
Redbox also agrees to buy the Blockbuster-branded DVD rental kiosks operated by NCR Corp. The moves create more formidable competition for Netflix.
