By the luck of the draw, two significant films by director William Friedkin are about to be released for home viewing almost simultaneously.
With 48 million customers, Netflix’s streaming service has changed the way we watch movies. Every week I review movies, and a lot my friends still wait for my recommendations to trickle to Netflix.
Here’s a look at models, super or otherwise, who’ve made the leap to movies, starting with Kate Upton in “The Other Woman.” She does wears a bikini in the movie, but has a bigger role and more clothes than in previous films. But can she act?
Recommended The Movie: Lucio Marcaccini’s only film, Hallucination Strip made in 1975, starts off as a fairly typical Italian cop picture but soon segues into something more unusual than that. The film follows a university student named Massimo Monaldi (Bud Cort) who is a politically minded type prone to attending protests and generally just getting into trouble.
Art gets you in ways your parents, teachers and sometimes your closest friends don’t understand. Donnie Darko is the perfect example of the phenomena we’re trying to describe here.
