If you are looking for a movie with superior 3D action and adventure then Alpha and Omega is the film for you. Ever wonder the answer to the ultimate question ‘Is the Alpha wolf more superior then the Omega wolf?’ Is it possible for them to be the one and only match? From this opening statement, “Alpha’s and Omega’s do not mix”, to the endearing ending this roller coaster of fun provides the answer to that question in this action adventure that’s presented in super 3D.

Alpha and Omega getting to know each other

Humphrey (Justin Long) is a carefree fun loving Omega wolf that has a crush on Kate (Hayden Panettiere) daughter of Winston (Danny Glover), the leader of the western pack of wolves.  Kate’s an adventurous hunting Alpha wolf that has the responsibility of doing what’s right for the pack even if it involves danger. With a low supply of Elk on the eastern side of Jasper National Park (Canada), Kate has been betrothed to Garth (Chris Carmack), son of Tony (Dennis Hopper) the leader of the eastern pack of the wolves.  The marriage would unite the packs and share the food supply of the whole park.

After many twists and turns we find both Kate and Humphrey unknowingly transported to a National Forest in Idaho.  Finding themselves lost from their packs the two start, with the help of two French Canadian Geese, Marcel (Larry Miller) and Paddy (Eric Price), on an adventure in a quest to return to Canada.  When they get back however, things have taken and odd turn.

Alpha and Omega tells a very good story that really uses the 3D technology to its advantage and gives the audience the feeling they are a part of it.  Steve Moore and Christopher Denk who created the adventure with a lot of intrigue, kept me involved in the plot from beginning to end.

The animated panoramic views that are strategically drawn within the story help give you a great feeling of presence within the film. From the opening scene where the camera steers you to the top of a waterfall and slowly brings you to the bottom as if you were falling with the water really shows how amazingly good 3D technology has become over the years.

Even though the film will probably catch the eye of the youngsters, due to the excellent cast, storyline and eye popping 3D, I recommend this movie for all ages. Caution: the film is rated PG for rude humor and some mild action.
