There hasn’t been much comfort on the big screen, but we’re the better for it. If you count on the movies for escape, to take you away from your cares and woes for a while, you’ve not found much comfort there, not this year.
We’re now into the season that really should be known as Listmas, where everyone is compiling lists of their top 10s of 2011.
The Rocketeer has been an underappreciated classic of super hero storytelling for twenty years, and to celebrate its anniversary Disney has released the film, remastered on Blu-ray as The Rocketeer 20th Anniversary Edition .

A behind-the-scenes look at costume, hair and makeup production on ‘Hugo, ‘The Iron Lady,’ ‘My Week With Marilyn,’ ‘The Muppets,’ ‘War Horse.’ A movie doesn’t have to be jampacked with cinema style to have a memorable fashion moment or two, and in the course of screening the slate of holiday-season films, we found all kinds of clothes, accessories, hairstyles and makeup worth a mention.
