Finally, a Twilight film that really fits the Horror genre and showcases some fine talent has hit theatres. I have to admit that although I am not a huge fan of the movie series, Twilight: The Eclipse provides the thrills, chills and lustful romance that are devoid in the previous two attempts. My hat is off to David Slade for finally giving at least one of the Stephenie Meyer novels some justice.
If you want to have a good laugh, then you need to see Get Him to the Greek. It’s a funny, off the wall comedy that had me laughing throughout the film. Hill and Brand play two characters that encounter many hilarious situations that kept the audience rolling in their seats.
Touching, graphic and profound the film Mother and Child delivers a moving and powerful slice of life. The acting, direction and cinematography all blend into a story that fits with our modern day lives. The interesting script although more directed at couples that are childless, should hit home with people who have had to deal with situations where an important decision changed their future.
Take a bucketful of Saturday Night Live alumni, add director Bill Dugan who has a long list of comedies and throw in a script that allows it’s cast to show their stuff and you have a recipe for laughter. That’s what Grown Ups delivers and I don’t know a better way this hot summer to chill out at the movies.
