MICMACS written review

From France comes a quirky little film that captivates, explodes, deceives and in the end, grabs at your heart. It’s called Micmacs and the fun film fires up and takes notice. I loved everything about it and I can’t wait to see it again.

INCEPTION written review

Turn your thinking brain on, grab hold of the arm rests and focus on the screen, that’s my best advice when you go to see Inception, an incredible thriller of a movie. Filled with awesome CGI, fine acting by a notable cast, rigorous direction by The Dark Knight’s Christopher Nolan and a storyline that outshines The Matrix. Inception is for those who like suspense mixed with amazing action.

Here’s a movie that will have your children dancing in the isles and singing along with the songs. The film is called Standing Ovation and features a journey depicting five junior high school girls attempting to become dance superstars. Pre-teens and most youngsters will enjoy the encounters the team has with another local dance group and the soundtrack featuring 20 original songs.

THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE written review

Sparks are flying in Disney’s newest film release The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. The action adventure takes off quick with some very cool special effects, creates an interesting love story melding a 740 AD romance with a modern day crush and then puts on a crescendo of fabulous fireworks. THE GIRL WHO PLAYED WITH FIRE guest review

In the first film, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Larsson’s story and characters were artfully condensed down to a manageable size and the director and cast were able to achieve a logical, articulate, and breathtaking chase against time to solve a 40-year-old cold case, while introducing two instant classic screen characters. A thoroughly entertaining film, I highly recommend seeing it (now out on DVD).

DESPICABLE ME written review

Computer Generated Animation goes to new heights with Despicable Me providing a crisp well lighted 3D that’s equal to Toy Story 3. The storyline in the film is not new, but all the wonderful characters are and that’s what makes Despicable Me a winner. The family oriented feature plays to all levels with adults getting equal share with the kiddies, so you can bring the whole brood to this one.

PREDATORS written review

The fifth Predator film has come to town and this one goes all out to please the action junkie. Predators slides in at second best of the series just below the original. The actors, direction and cinematography are all in sync and the simple storyline does entertain. If you are looking to see copious amounts of gratuitous violence then search out the movie Predators, it’s a non-stop blood bath.
