‘Marvel’s The Avengers’ This was a heck of a summer for superhero movies and Marvel’s “The Avengers” (written and directed by Joss Whedon), the culmination of years of predecessors (“Iron Man,” “Thor,” “Captain America,” “Hulk”), was far and away the finest of the bunch.
